Forensic Detective
Take an award-winning detective game into VR.
The objective
Forensic Detective started as an award-winning mobile experience by NeoPangea. We took the idea into VR to see how far it could go on Meta Quest.
Research already points to VR as a serious training tool for crime scene investigation, including a 2024 Journal of Criminal Justice Education study.
The experience
You start in a futuristic holographic crime lab. SIDD, an AI drone, briefs you and reveals a life-size crime scene to examine: a victim, bullet casings and a shoe print.

The outcome
The result is a working VR proof of concept that brings the original mobile experience to Meta Quest.
Inside the crime lab.
Enter the holodeck.
The lights come up on a futuristic crime lab.
A glitchy logo sequence opens into a dim holographic lab where the investigation begins.
Meet SIDD.
An AI drone scans you and gives the briefing.
SIDD flies over, identifies you and opens a holographic message from the chief that sets your role and the stakes.
Examine the scene.
A life-size hologram of the crime appears.
Players look over the victim, bullet casings and a shoe print. Overlays reveal the caliber, the shoe size and the time of death.
